The SX4 is about 50% larger in most specs. The table is ~50% larger. Motor is 1500w (2HP) vs the 1000w (1 1/3 HP) of the SX3. The bigger the machine the bigger the cuts you can take. I've done a fair amount of SS machining with no complaints, but I take cuts within the limits of my machine.

The one thing I am lacking in my shop is a small, high speed type of mill for doing little tiny stuff, like #0 center drills, 1mm drills, and tiny cutters. Running a 7.5hp spindle on a 5ton CNC mill doing holes in a two inch long part just doesn't fly. Besides, we love our toys!
