Re: Newbie with a Beaver Milling Machine. Used parts are going to be hard to find this side of the pond,not a lot of these got over here. A static converter will also work,running my 2 BPs that way. As your mill looks to be a step pulley style a VFD probably will be your best bet as running that motor on single phase ain't happ'en.

Just had to google 6x26 mill, now Im more knowledgable It does look to be in that class. Sort of an inbetweeny between an industrial and a hobby machine. Perfect size for a large shed/small workshop. The motor mount on it at the moment is a bit of a mashup. I need to make a new plate, spacers, and I have some more Whitworth bolts on order.
I have just purchased a milling machine made by Balding Engineering, the maker of Beaver machines, named a "PAL", bought a manual from Tony in England and found out there was very little published about the machines.
